Healing with equity and social justice as the goal 〰️

Welcome! My name is Dr. Bibi Pirayesh

I am here to guide you through the realization that these emotions are not a reflection of your inadequacy; rather, they are a natural response to the demands placed on individuals in these fields within our culture.

What’s clear is that our current mental health frameworks have failed us!

As a bicultural educational therapist and learning disability advocate, my journey is deeply rooted in a family that placed immense value on educational success. As an immigrant who embraced the American dream, my experiences bridge two worlds, offering a unique perspective on the intersection of culture, education, and mental health.

I specifically explore the dualities faced by many in these professions. Despite our belief in healing and helping, there exists a dissonance as we inadvertently contribute to a dominant, hegemonic, and oppressive system. My bicultural perspective provides a critical vantage point, allowing me to deconstruct and decolonize, a journey I undertook later in my successful professional career. I understand the challenge of questioning a deeply invested path. Yet, I've learned that reclaiming our profession requires breaking it down first. I underwent this transformative process myself and now aim to guide others, alleviate the sense of impostorship, and foster alignment with our roles as healers. Welcome to a journey of reclaiming purpose in our impactful professions.

The Mission…

Healing the healers by centering radical love in our professions.

We need a paradigm shift from the Western medical model toward a therapeutic practice that is aimed at healing with equity and social justice as the goal.

Are you unsure where to start to make the shift? The guide below is your first step in the process!

The Radical Love Reset Guide

for mental health professionals

I firmly advocate for a fundamental shift within our entire education and mental health fields.

Our current trainings and models often do more harm than good. Compounded by a system, be it in education or mental health, that prioritizes profit over humanity, individuals in our professions risk becoming mere agents of the state rather than authentic healers. The remedy lies in delving into our history and positionality and comprehending the history, ideology, and values of the systems we operate within. Only then can we initiate incremental actions that redirect our focus toward healing with individuals and communities while consciously divesting from the overarching systems. This bold transformation is essential for reshaping the narrative and impact of our vital professions which only work when we can center radical love at the heart of all we do.

What audiences are saying…

Important and meaningful!!!

Very informative and helpful in understanding our role as mental health professionals in social justice.

Passionate and clearly knowledgeable. Such a unique and important message!

It’s a relief to finally hear someone say what can be biased or discriminatory aloud. I can’t remember the last time I was riveted by a CE talk.

She was so great, and I hope you bring her back many times!
